FRONT SUSPENSION  FAQ.
Complaint
Cause
Solution

  • front forks sluggish/nearly immobile
  • front forks shock the steering when accelerating and in ruts uncomfortable
  • front wheel bounce on poor surface

  • too much spring preload or
  • spring too hard or
  • rebound to soft or
  • tyre pressure to hard

  • reduce spring preload
  • fit progressive front fork springs with softer initial strengt
  • reduce tyre pressure
  • chance oil with thicker
Complaint
Cause
Solution

  • dips too deep
  • too much negative suspension travel
  • tendency to shock when braking
  • front fork shudder when braking and traveling downhill

  • not enough spring preload
  • spring too soft

  • increase spring preload
  • fit progressive front fork springs with harder initial strength
Complaint
Cause
Solution

  • front forks sluggish/nearly immobile
  • shocks in steering when accelerating
  • front wheel bounce when braking hard

  • compression too hard or
  • tyre pressure to hard

  • reduce compression
  • use thinner oil
  • reduce tyre pressure
Complaint
Cause
Solution

  • front forks shock when braking and on uneven road surfaces dips rapidly when braking

  • compression too soft or
  • oil level to low

  • increase compression
  • oil level increase
Complaint
Cause
Solution

  • front forks spring back slowly
  • uncomfortable
  • front wheel unable to cope with uneven surfaces
  • indirect steering behaviour

  • to much rebound damping

  • reduce rebound
  • oil level increase
Complaint
Cause
Solution

  • front end is lively
  • bounce/shock on uneven surfaces
  • front forks spring back too quickly

  • not enough rebound damping

  • increase rebound damping
  • use thicker front fork oil
Complaint
Cause
Solution

  • front forks shock
  • front wheel shudders
  • not enough progressive hardening of spring towards end of travel

  • air chamber too large

  • increase oil level in small steps of 5 to 10 mm.
Complaint
Cause
Solution

  • forks hard
  • tendency to shock in steering
  • front wheel bounces when braking due to hydraulic lock in fork
  • uncomfortable

  • air chamber too small

  • decrease oil level in small steps of 5 to 10 mm.

REAR SUSPENSION  FAQ.
Complaint
Cause
